Cropia Money Guide — Every Income Stream, In Order

Cropia's economy opens up in stages, and every stage has rules worth knowing before you lean on it. This page walks through each income stream in unlock order — what it pays, when it refreshes, and what quietly blocks it.

Income Streams by Unlock Order

Town Supplier Drop BoxReputation level 10Weekly supply contracts with five shops, paying gold plus shop reputation

The Daily Request Board Is Your Best Habit

The board sits next to your farm and unlocks at reputation level 8. A batch of requests appears at the start of each day, then fresh waves land at 9:00, 12:00, and 15:00 — and anything unfinished expires when the day ends. That timing is the whole trick: players who loop back to the board between chores collect several payouts a day, while players who check once each morning miss most of them.

Delivery counting is friendlier than it looks: requested items are tallied across your Storage, Employee Commodity Storage, fridge, backpack, and even items held in hand. Before buying anything for a request, check whether you already own it somewhere on the farm.

💰 Scale reference. The story expects roughly 10,000 gold from you early on, and the first big purchase — North Field 1 — costs 100,000 gold. One player reported around 13,000 gold per harvest-day from a large planted field alone, which shows how quickly crop income scales once fields fill up. Treat those as orientation points, not promises.

Town Supplier Orders: Weekly, Not Daily

At reputation level 10 the Town Supplier Drop Box opens a second economy on top of daily play. Five shops — Farm Shop, Ranch Shop, Barbershop, Gymnasium, and Pet & Care Shop — each post two supply orders per week, but each shop holds only one active order at a time. Finishing an order pays gold plus that shop's reputation; missing a deadline costs both.

The discipline that works: accept an order only when the producing system behind it (fields, ranch, fishing spot) is already running, and never let five deadlines stack into the same day. Weekly contracts punish overcommitment far harder than the daily board does.

Mining as a Steady Side Income

Ore sells, and tunnels restock, so mining doubles as a reliable gold source between harvests. As a real-world yardstick, one player's full clear of the mine's tunnels yielded 51 stone, 39 coal, 34 iron ore, 22 copper ore, 14 silver ore, 1 gold ore, and 4 gems (2 emerald, 2 ruby, 1 sapphire) in a single in-game day with an Emerald Pickaxe. Gold ore is intentionally rare — most runs will not see one.

⛏️ Inventory warning. When your pack is full, mined gems can be lost outright. A common habit: drop stone and coal near the tunnel entrance first, then circle back for the valuable drops. Upgrading the pickaxe also speeds everything up — rocks take repeated hits otherwise.

Three Money Mistakes to Avoid

MistakeWhy It HurtsDo This Instead
Selling every harvested cropSome seeds exist only as quest rewards and cannot be bought again — no seed maker existsKeep a few of each crop stored before selling the surplus
Grinding crops to raise reputationFarming, mining, and fishing give no reputation — shop stock stays gatedWork the mailbox main-objectives; reputation follows the story
Ignoring the board until eveningDaily requests expire at night — morning-only players lose the midday wavesLoop past the board around 9:00, 12:00, and 15:00 while doing chores

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make money fast in Cropia?

Early on, sell farm goods through the Shipping Bin or Pawn Shop and clear the mine regularly for ore. Once your reputation hits level 8, the Daily Request Board becomes your steadiest payer — its request waves refresh during the day and expire at night, so checking it often is the single best gold habit.

What is the difference between the Shipping Bin and the Pawn Shop?

Both are official sell channels for your goods — either counts toward sales like the Citrus Merchant achievement (120 oranges). Use whichever is more convenient for your route; the game does not require choosing one forever.

Why is my reputation not going up?

Reputation comes from the mailbox main-objectives — farming, mining, and fishing do not raise it. If you are stuck below a gate (level 8 for the Request Board and North Field, level 10 for Town Suppliers), check your mailbox for the next story objective instead of grinding crops.

What are the Town Supplier Drop Box rules?

Unlocked at reputation level 10. Five shops (Farm Shop, Ranch Shop, Barbershop, Gymnasium, Pet & Care Shop) each offer two orders per week, with one active order per shop at a time. Missing a deadline costs gold and reputation, so accept only what your production can cover.

How much money do I need in Cropia?

The story gives two reference points: an early main quest asks you to save up 10,000 gold, and the first paid field expansion, North Field 1, costs 100,000 gold once reputation level 8 opens it. Plan your income streams around climbing toward those numbers.
